job description

Are you a fluent Japanese speaker with a passion for engineering and the entertainment industry? Join a leading Japanese entertainment company in Bali as a Project Engineer (Supervisor to Assistant Manager level) and play a pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge projects in one of the world's most vibrant tourism hubs.

This is a unique opportunity to bridge Japanese business culture with Indonesia's dynamic entertainment sector. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage technical projects, and ensure seamless execution of entertainment infrastructure, events, and attractions. Based in Bali's premier locations—Canggu, Ubud, Denpasar, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, Kuta, or Badung—you'll enjoy a competitive salary, international exposure, and the chance to shape unforgettable experiences for global audiences.

If you thrive in fast-paced environments, possess strong technical and interpersonal skills, and are eager to advance your career in a multicultural setting, we want to hear from you!

Responsibility

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects within the entertainment sector, ensuring alignment with Japanese and local standards.
  • Coordinate with Japanese stakeholders, vendors, and local teams to manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct technical assessments, feasibility studies, and risk analyses for entertainment infrastructure, events, or attractions.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Japanese headquarters and Indonesian operations, facilitating clear communication and cultural bridge-building.
  • Monitor project progress, troubleshoot technical challenges, and implement corrective actions to meet quality and safety benchmarks.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Train and mentor local engineering teams on Japanese technical standards, workflows, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and company policies throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related fields) or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Fluency in Japanese (business-level proficiency) and English; proficiency in Indonesian is a plus.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in project engineering, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Proven track record in managing technical projects, preferably in entertainment, hospitality, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and technical documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills to bridge Japanese and Indonesian work environments.
  • Ability to travel within Bali and occasionally to Japan for meetings or training.
  • Familiarity with local regulations, permits, and compliance requirements in Indonesia is advantageous.
