Responsibility
- Provide accurate and real-time interpretation between Japanese and English during meetings, conferences, and negotiations.
- Translate written documents, emails, and reports while maintaining confidentiality and precision.
- Assist in cross-cultural communication to ensure clarity and mutual understanding.
- Support business operations by facilitating smooth interactions between Japanese and local teams.
- Prepare and review materials for presentations, ensuring linguistic and cultural appropriateness.
- Act as a cultural liaison, helping teams navigate differences in business etiquette and practices.
- Maintain professionalism and adaptability in high-pressure or sensitive situations.
- Collaborate with HR and management to onboard Japanese-speaking employees or visitors.
Qualifications
- Fluency in both Japanese and English (written and verbal).
- Proven experience as an interpreter or translator in a corporate setting.
- Strong understanding of business terminology in both languages.
- Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle confidential information discreetly.
- Familiarity with Japanese business culture and etiquette.
- Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation, or a related field (preferred).
- Previous experience in manufacturing, tech, or multinational corporations is a plus.
