Responsibility
- Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system and infrastructure problems to minimize downtime.
- Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment, including computers, servers, and peripherals.
- Monitor and manage network performance, ensuring secure and efficient connectivity.
- Assist in the deployment and maintenance of onboard vessel IT systems and communications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement IT solutions and upgrades.
- Document IT processes, issues, and resolutions for future reference and training.
- Stay updated with the latest IT trends and technologies to recommend improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience (2+ years) in IT support, system administration, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems, networking, and hardware troubleshooting.
- Experience with IT infrastructure management, including servers, routers, and switches.
- Familiarity with maritime IT systems or willingness to learn is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, with a customer-focused approach.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) are advantageous.
