Responsibility
- Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and tax regulations.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist in the preparation and lodgment of Australian tax returns (e.g., BAS, IAS, Income Tax) for individuals and businesses.
- Conduct tax planning and advisory to optimize client tax positions while ensuring compliance.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support audit preparations and financial reporting.
- Stay updated on changes in Australian tax laws and accounting standards, implementing necessary adjustments.
- Provide exceptional client service by addressing inquiries and delivering clear financial insights.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in a Chartered Accounting firm or similar environment, with a focus on Australian tax compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CA qualification is a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel (advanced level).
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax legislation, including GST, PAYG, and FBT.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting with minimal supervision.
- Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal) for client interactions.
- Experience with cloud-based accounting systems and remote collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Zoom).
