Responsibility
- Manage, monitor, and maintain the z/OS operating system environment to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Perform system installations, configurations, and upgrades of z/OS software products and subsystems.
- Develop and maintain complex JCL (Job Control Language) scripts for batch processing and system automation.
- Analyze and troubleshoot system performance issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Collaborate with application development teams to support COBOL-based applications and optimize resource utilization.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and standards, conducting regular system audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response activities to ensure 24/7 system reliability.
- Document system configurations, operational procedures, and incident resolutions for knowledge management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in IBM z/OS System Administration.
- Strong proficiency in JCL (Job Control Language) and TSO/ISPF.
- Solid understanding of COBOL, CICS, DB2, and z/OS system internals.
- Experience with SMP/E for installing and maintaining mainframe software.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex mainframe performance and storage issues.
- Familiarity with mainframe security tools such as RACF or ACF2.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
