Responsibility
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Review and verify patient information, diagnoses, and procedures to prevent billing errors.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, resolving discrepancies and resubmitting as necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) and billing regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to clarify billing inquiries.
- Generate and analyze financial reports to track billing performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of patient data in accordance with HIPAA and other privacy laws.
- Work efficiently during night shifts to align with global client time zones and deadlines.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in medical billing, coding, or revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of data accurately.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with healthcare providers, insurers, and patients.
- Ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision.
- Certification (e.g., CPC, CPB, or CCS-P) is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with international billing standards and multi-currency transactions is advantageous.
