Responsibility
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and cranes.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and manuals.
- Replace or repair defective parts, components, and systems to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
- Conduct preventive maintenance checks and keep accurate records of all servicing and repairs.
- Collaborate with the operations team to schedule maintenance and minimize equipment downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance activities.
- Order and manage inventory of spare parts and supplies needed for repairs.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior mechanics or apprentices as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role, preferably in construction, mining, or industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in heavy machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to work in various conditions, including outdoor and confined spaces.
- Valid certification or vocational training in heavy equipment mechanics is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
