Responsibility
- Oversee daily operations of outpatient informatics systems, ensuring data accuracy, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Analyze clinical and operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to implement and optimize electronic health record (EHR) systems and other health technologies.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure outpatient service efficiency and patient satisfaction.
- Lead training sessions for staff on new informatics tools, workflows, and best practices to enhance adoption and usability.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot system issues and ensure minimal downtime.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives, such as telehealth integration and patient portal enhancements.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management to support data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare operations, informatics, or a similar role, preferably in an outpatient setting.
- Strong understanding of EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR).
- Proven analytical skills with proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clinical staff, IT teams, and executives.
- Certification in healthcare informatics (e.g., CPHIMS) or project management (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA, GDPR) and quality improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
