Responsibility
- Perform thorough cleaning, washing, and decontamination of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Operate and monitor autoclave and sterilisation machines according to strict hospital protocols.
- Inspect instruments for functionality and integrity prior to the packaging and sterilisation process.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation for all processed items to ensure full traceability.
- Assemble instrument trays and surgical kits according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure the CSSD facility is kept clean, organized, and compliant with infection control policies.
- Communicate effectively with nursing and surgical staff to manage urgent requests and inventory replenishment.
Qualifications
- Minimum GCE 'N' or 'O' levels, or a relevant Certificate in Healthcare Support.
- Prior experience in a CSSD, sterile processing, or clinical environment is highly advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow rigorous safety and hygiene protocols.
- Must be comfortable working in a shift-based environment (including overnight/weekend shifts).
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Possess physical stamina for tasks involving standing and manual handling of equipment.
- Good command of written and spoken English to manage logs and standard procedures.
