Responsibility

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance framework aligned with global AML/CFT, sanctions, and financial regulations.
  • Act as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), ensuring timely and accurate suspicious activity reporting (SAR) and regulatory filings.
  • Lead risk assessments and due diligence processes for high-risk clients, transactions, and business partnerships.
  • Oversee internal audits and compliance monitoring, identifying gaps and recommending corrective actions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, auditors, and law enforcement on compliance-related matters.
  • Train and mentor compliance teams and cross-functional stakeholders on regulatory obligations and best practices.
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, and product teams to ensure new products and markets meet compliance standards.
  • Stay ahead of emerging regulatory trends in fintech and payments, advising leadership on strategic adjustments.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of compliance experience in banking, payments, or fintech, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record as an MLRO or Deputy MLRO in a regulated financial institution.
  • Deep knowledge of AML/CFT frameworks (FATF, MAS, EU directives) and payment industry regulations (PSD2, PCI-DSS).
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Experience managing regulatory examinations and liaising with authorities (e.g., Bank Indonesia, Monetary Authority of Singapore).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulations into actionable policies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including board-level reporting.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages (e.g., Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia) are a plus.
