Responsibility
- Lead and mentor a team of chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a culture of excellence, creativity, and teamwork.
- Develop and refine menus that highlight authentic Indonesian dishes while incorporating modern culinary trends.
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and adherence to traditional recipes and hygiene standards.
- Manage kitchen operations, including inventory control, cost management, and supplier negotiations to maintain profitability.
- Collaborate with the restaurant management team to align culinary offerings with customer expectations and business goals.
- Train and develop staff, conducting regular performance reviews and providing constructive feedback.
- Monitor food safety and sanitation practices to comply with local health regulations and internal policies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, seasonal ingredients, and emerging culinary techniques to keep the menu fresh and exciting.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef, preferably in an Indonesian or Southeast Asian restaurant.
- Proven expertise in Indonesian cuisine, including regional specialties and traditional cooking methods.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse kitchen staff.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety, HACCP standards, and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Creative mindset with a passion for menu development and culinary innovation.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); proficiency in Indonesian (Bahasa) is a plus.
- Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or a related field is preferred.
