Responsibility
- Prepare and submit accurate customs clearance declarations for imports and exports in compliance with Indonesian and international regulations.
- Liaise with customs authorities, clients, and internal teams to resolve clearance issues and ensure timely processing.
- Monitor and interpret changes in customs laws, tariffs, and trade agreements to maintain compliance and optimize duty savings.
- Maintain meticulous records of customs documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and permits, ensuring audit readiness.
- Collaborate with logistics and supply chain teams to streamline customs procedures and reduce delays.
- Provide expert guidance to internal stakeholders on customs requirements, classifications, and valuation methods.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency in customs processes through automation or process reengineering.
- Support the resolution of customs-related disputes or penalties by preparing appeals or corrective actions.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Customs Broker License) are a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in customs clearance, trade compliance, or a similar role, preferably in a global logistics environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Indonesian customs regulations, including import/export procedures, HS codes, and duty calculations.
- Proficiency in customs software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Experience with Kuehne + Nagelâs internal tools is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English (additional fluency in Indonesian is a plus).
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in documentation and data entry.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing regulatory environments.
