Responsibility
- Administer, maintain, and optimize Linux and Unix servers in production and development environments.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Automate repetitive tasks using Bash, Python, or Perl scripting to improve efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system, network, and application issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to deploy, configure, and manage infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Implement and enforce security best practices, including patch management, access controls, and vulnerability assessments.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and incident reports for knowledge sharing.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in Linux/Unix system administration (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.).
- Strong proficiency in shell scripting (Bash) and at least one programming language (Python, Perl, or Ruby).
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, load balancers).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).
