Arcanys is seeking a Fractional Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) to provide strategic security guidance to our portfolio of innovative startups. In this role, you'll act as a trusted advisor, helping founders establish robust security frameworks, ensure compliance with global data privacy regulations (GDPR, DPA), and build scalable security programs from the ground up.

As a vCISO at Arcanys, you'll:
- Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies tailored to startup needs
- Conduct risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities
- Establish and maintain compliance with GDPR, DPA, and other relevant regulations
- Design and implement security awareness training programs
- Act as the primary security contact for clients and stakeholders
- Provide thought leadership on emerging security threats and trends

Responsibility
- Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies tailored to startup needs and growth stages
- Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies
- Establish and maintain compliance with global data privacy regulations including GDPR, DPA, and industry-specific standards
- Design and implement security awareness training programs for employees at all levels
- Act as the primary security contact for clients, investors, and regulatory bodies
- Provide thought leadership on emerging security threats, trends, and best practices
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and incident response plans
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in information security leadership roles
- Proven track record as a CISO, Security Director, or equivalent fractional role
- In-depth knowledge of GDPR, DPA, and other global compliance frameworks
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA
- Strong understanding of cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SaaS architectures
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working with startups or high-growth companies is a plus
