Responsibility
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Assist the head chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in restocking ingredients to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure timely and efficient service during peak hours.
- Follow portion control guidelines to minimize waste and optimize cost efficiency.
- Assist in the development of new menu items and seasonal specials.
- Provide support in training new kitchen staff and maintaining a positive work environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a cook or assistant cook in a restaurant, food stall, or similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Creativity and passion for cooking, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy kitchen equipment.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic understanding of inventory management and cost control.
