Responsibility
- Lead the strategic vision and execution of innovation engineering initiatives to drive digital transformation across UOB’s global operations.
- Oversee the development and deployment of AI, machine learning, and automation solutions to enhance banking services and customer engagement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate emerging technologies (e.g., blockchain, cloud computing) into core banking systems.
- Drive the adoption of agile methodologies and DevOps practices to accelerate product development and time-to-market.
- Identify and evaluate new technology trends, partnerships, and investment opportunities to maintain UOB’s competitive edge.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards while fostering a culture of innovation and risk-aware experimentation.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement.
- Represent UOB at industry conferences, forums, and thought leadership events to position the bank as a leader in financial technology.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., PMP, AWS, CISSP) are a plus.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in software engineering, digital transformation, or innovation leadership, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale technology projects in the financial services or fintech industry.
- Deep expertise in AI, machine learning, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and modern software architectures (microservices, APIs).
- Strong understanding of banking operations, regulatory frameworks (e.g., Basel III, PSD2), and cybersecurity best practices.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills to influence and align diverse teams.
- Experience working in agile environments and driving cultural change toward innovation and digital-first mindsets.
- Fluency in English; additional Asian languages (e.g., Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia) are advantageous.
