Responsibility
- Perform TIG (GTAW), MIG, and arc welding on stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals to industry standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements and fit-up procedures.
- Fabricate, assemble, and fit metal components for structural and decorative applications in construction, hospitality, and industrial projects.
- Inspect and test welded surfaces and structures to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards (e.g., AWS, ASME).
- Maintain and operate welding equipment, including torches, grinders, and cutting tools, while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other tradespeople to ensure seamless project execution and timely delivery.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on welding equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Document work progress, including material usage, time logs, and quality control checks, for reporting purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a TIG/MIG Welder and Fitter, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a similar role.
- Proficiency in GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and SMAW (Stick) welding techniques, with the ability to work on various metals (e.g., stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings with precision.
- Strong understanding of welding symbols, metallurgy, and fabrication principles.
- Familiarity with safety standards (e.g., OSHA, AWS) and best practices for welding and fitting operations.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in challenging environments, including outdoor sites and confined spaces.
- Certifications such as AWS, ASME, or equivalent are a plus but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure high-quality workmanship.
