Responsibility
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on injection molds to ensure optimal performance and longevity, adhering to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mold-related issues, including wear, damage, or malfunction, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and production delays.
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble molds, identifying components that require repair or replacement to maintain precision and quality standards.
- Collaborate with production teams to monitor mold performance, address operational concerns, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce defects.
- Document maintenance activities, including repairs, adjustments, and part replacements, in a detailed and organized manner for traceability and future reference.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new molds, ensuring proper alignment, calibration, and functionality before production runs.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies, maintaining a clean and organized work environment to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting process enhancements or tooling upgrades to optimize mold performance and reduce operational costs.
Qualifications
- Diploma or equivalent certification in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in mold maintenance, repair, or tooling within a plastics manufacturing or industrial production environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and mold specifications to perform accurate repairs and adjustments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) and hand/power tools for mold maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with injection molding processes, equipment, and common mold-related issues, such as flash, short shots, or cooling inefficiencies.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and document maintenance activities clearly.
