Note: This position is based in Canggu, with potential opportunities to work across our expanding locations in Ubud, Seminyak, and Jimbaran.
Responsibility
- Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based beverages, including latte art, pour-overs, and cold brews, adhering to Lumiere’s standards.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment to ensure optimal performance and hygiene.
- Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests, offering coffee recommendations, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service and timely delivery of food and beverage orders.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies, and report shortages to the management team.
- Uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards in the bar area, including regular cleaning of equipment and workstations.
- Participate in coffee tastings, training sessions, and workshops to stay updated on industry trends and techniques.
- Assist in opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, POS system management, and end-of-day reconciliations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Barista in a specialty coffee shop or high-volume café.
- Proficient in espresso extraction, milk steaming, and latte art techniques.
- Strong knowledge of coffee origins, brewing methods, and flavor profiles.
- Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages (Bahasa Indonesia, Mandarin, etc.) are a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
