Responsibility
- Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, and cookware to Hilton’s hygiene standards.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of kitchen and dining areas for evening service, ensuring all equipment is properly stored and organized.
- Support kitchen staff by ensuring a steady supply of clean dishes, glassware, and cutlery during peak service hours.
- Operate and maintain dishwashing machines, ensuring they are cleaned and sanitized regularly to prevent contamination.
- Collaborate with the culinary and service teams to ensure smooth operations and timely service delivery.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper waste disposal and storage of cleaning chemicals.
- Assist in receiving and storing kitchen supplies, ensuring inventory is well-organized and easily accessible.
- Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the supervisory team promptly.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a steward or kitchen porter role in a hotel or restaurant environment is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment during evening shifts (7 PM onwards).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 15 kg).
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by the hotel’s operational needs.
