Responsibility
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers to build, scale, and optimize Stripe's payment infrastructure.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to define and execute the payments roadmap.
- Ensure high availability, security, and performance of payment systems handling billions in transactions.
- Drive technical excellence through code reviews, architecture decisions, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Work cross-functionally to integrate new payment methods and expand global coverage.
- Monitor and improve system reliability, latency, and scalability.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of engineering leadership experience, preferably in payments or fintech.
- Strong background in distributed systems, APIs, and scalable architecture.
- Experience with payment protocols (e.g., PCI DSS, 3D Secure) and financial regulations.
- Proven track record of hiring, mentoring, and growing engineering teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with modern tech stacks (e.g., Go, Ruby, Kubernetes, AWS).
- Passion for Stripe's mission and a customer-first mindset.
