Responsibility
- Lead and manage marine engineering projects from conceptual design to delivery, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with industry regulations.
- Develop and review ship designs, including structural, stability, and hydrodynamic analyses, using advanced CAD and simulation tools.
- Oversee cost estimation, budgeting, and financial planning for projects, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, vendors, and subcontractors, mitigating risks and resolving disputes.
- Mentor and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., procurement, operations) to streamline project execution and meet deadlines.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in marine engineering to drive competitive advantage.
- Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and progress updates to stakeholders and senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., RINA, ABS) are a plus.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in ship design and marine engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven expertise in cost estimation, contract management, and commercial aspects of marine projects.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Rhino, NAPA, or similar) and project management tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to inspire teams and build client relationships.
- Familiarity with international maritime regulations (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL) and classification society standards.
- Experience working with international clients or in multicultural environments is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of Indonesian is a plus.
