As an ERT Member, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and operational readiness of emergency response systems. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining, inspecting, and servicing firefighting equipment, safety facilities, and emergency protocols in compliance with industry standards and organizational policies. Responsibility
- Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and servicing of firefighting equipment, emergency response tools, and safety facilities according to established schedules and maintenance programs.
- Ensure all emergency response systems are operational, compliant, and ready for deployment in crisis situations.
- Respond promptly to emergency incidents, including fires, medical emergencies, and other hazardous situations, following standardized protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, update, and implement emergency response plans and evacuation procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of inspections, maintenance activities, and incident reports for compliance and auditing purposes.
- Participate in regular drills, training sessions, and simulations to enhance team readiness and individual competency.
- Identify potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks in the workplace.
- Provide first aid and basic medical assistance as required until professional medical help arrives.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in emergency response, firefighting, or a related safety role, preferably in the Mining, Resources, or Energy sector.
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, and Advanced Firefighting (e.g., NFPA, OSHA, or equivalent).
- Proven ability to work under pressure and make quick, effective decisions in high-stakes situations.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, emergency protocols, and equipment handling.
- Excellent physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding tasks in challenging environments.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with colleagues and external stakeholders during emergencies.
- Willingness to work in shift-based or on-call rotations as required by operational needs.
- Familiarity with hazardous materials (HAZMAT) handling is a plus.
