Responsibility
- Design, deploy, and maintain edge Point of Presence (POP) infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate edge computing solutions with ByteDance's global network.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network and system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability.
- Implement automation tools and scripts to streamline edge infrastructure management and scalability.
- Optimize data delivery paths and reduce latency for end-users across diverse geographic regions.
- Conduct regular performance assessments and capacity planning for edge POP locations.
- Work closely with security teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in network engineering, cloud infrastructure, or edge computing.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, CDN, and load balancing technologies.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Perl for automation.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Certifications in networking (CCNA, CCNP) or cloud technologies are a plus.
