Responsibility
- Perform comprehensive diagnostic eye tests, including visual acuity, tonometry, and retinal imaging.
- Operate and maintain advanced ophthalmic equipment such as autorefractors, slit lamps, and OCT machines.
- Assist ophthalmologists during patient examinations by preparing diagnostic reports and test results.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during diagnostic procedures, explaining each step clearly.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with clinic protocols.
- Calibrate and troubleshoot diagnostic equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Educate patients on pre- and post-test procedures, addressing any concerns or questions.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to streamline diagnostic workflows and improve efficiency.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Optometry, Ophthalmic Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Diagnostic Technician or in a similar role within an eye care setting.
- Proficiency in operating ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and interpreting test results.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and medical staff.
- Certification in ophthalmic assisting or related fields is a plus.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
