Responsibility
- Establish and enforce design standards and guidelines for mall interiors, exteriors, and common areas to ensure consistency with SM Supermallsâ brand identity.
- Review and evaluate proposed design concepts, layouts, and materials from architects, contractors, and vendors, providing constructive feedback and recommendations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including marketing, operations, and leasing teams, to align design projects with business objectives and customer experience goals.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the implementation of design plans, ensuring adherence to specifications, quality standards, and timelines.
- Develop and maintain design documentation, including mood boards, material palettes, and technical drawings, to facilitate clear communication with project teams.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging materials, and innovative design technologies to incorporate best practices into mall design projects.
- Coordinate with local authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Participate in budget planning and cost estimation for design projects, balancing aesthetic aspirations with financial constraints.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field; a masterâs degree or professional certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in design management, architectural coordination, or a similar role, preferably in retail or commercial projects.
- Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, or 3D modeling tools.
- Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, and material specifications relevant to large-scale commercial projects.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
- Detail-oriented with a keen eye for aesthetics, functionality, and spatial planning.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles and a commitment to environmentally responsible practices is highly desirable.
