Responsibility
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) to ensure compliance with sterilization and infection control standards.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of CSSD technicians and nursing staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Implement and monitor sterilization protocols, including steam, ethylene oxide, and plasma sterilization, in accordance with local and international guidelines (e.g., WHO, ISO, AAMI).
- Conduct regular audits and quality checks on sterilization equipment, instruments, and processes to maintain optimal functionality and safety.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for decontamination, packaging, sterilization, and storage of medical instruments.
- Collaborate with surgical, nursing, and administrative teams to ensure seamless coordination and timely delivery of sterilized instruments.
- Manage inventory of sterilization supplies, track usage, and coordinate procurement to prevent shortages or excess stock.
- Participate in training programs, workshops, and continuous education initiatives to stay updated on best practices in CSSD management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in CSSD or sterilization services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Valid nursing license and certification in infection control or sterilization technologies (e.g., Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - CSPDT).
- In-depth knowledge of sterilization techniques, medical device reprocessing, and infection prevention protocols.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams and interact with cross-functional departments.
- Proficient in using CSSD management software and familiar with tracking systems for sterilization cycles and inventory.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and make critical decisions under pressure.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Indonesian (Bahasa) is an advantage.
