Responsibility
- Assist the Head Pastry Chef in the preparation and presentation of desserts, pastries, and baked goods.
- Ensure all pastry items are prepared according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to maintain stock.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new pastry items and seasonal specials.
- Operate and maintain pastry equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
- Train and supervise junior pastry staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Participate in menu planning and cost control initiatives to optimize profitability.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a pastry kitchen, preferably in a hotel or fine dining establishment.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and pastry decoration.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.
