Responsibility
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to standardized recipes and special dietary requirements.
- Collaborate with the head chef and kitchen team to plan menus, ensuring variety and alignment with seasonal ingredients.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen workspace in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Plate dishes creatively and present them according to establishment standards for an exceptional guest experience.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and teamwork.
- Adapt to high-volume service periods while maintaining consistency in taste, portion control, and timing.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute ideas for improving kitchen operations and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience as a cook or chef in a hotel, resort, or fine-dining restaurant.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP principles.
- Creativity and passion for culinary arts, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new cuisines.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy kitchen equipment (up to 20 kg).
- Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Familiarity with Balinese or Southeast Asian cuisine is highly desirable.
