Responsibility
- Design, develop, and maintain database systems to support business operations and ensure high availability and performance.
- Optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and other tuning techniques.
- Implement and maintain database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing.
- Collaborate with software developers and other stakeholders to integrate database systems with applications.
- Develop and maintain database documentation, including data dictionaries, schemas, and procedural guidelines.
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime and data integrity.
- Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, and backups to ensure data safety and system reliability.
- Stay updated with emerging database technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements and innovations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Database Programmer, Database Administrator, or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
- Experience with database design, normalization, and optimization techniques.
- Knowledge of data security practices and compliance standards.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks.
