Responsibility
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive data governance framework to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security across the organization.
- Lead the design and enforcement of data quality standards, including validation rules, metadata management, and data lineage tracking.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, local financial regulations) and internal policies for data handling and reporting.
- Collaborate with IT, risk management, and business teams to identify and mitigate data-related risks, including breaches and inaccuracies.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of data dictionaries, catalogs, and classification systems to improve data discoverability and usability.
- Monitor and report on data governance KPIs, providing insights to senior leadership on compliance status and areas for improvement.
- Drive training and awareness programs to foster a culture of data stewardship and accountability across departments.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies and tools to enhance data governance, security, and automation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a similar role within the financial services sector.
- Proven expertise in regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., Basel III, GDPR, PDPA) and financial reporting standards.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, metadata management, and data lineage concepts.
- Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica) and proficiency in SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Certifications such as CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional), CIPP/E, or CISSP are a plus.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills to drive organizational change and adoption of best practices.
