Responsibility
- Operate and maintain data center control systems, including BMS (Building Management Systems), SCADA, and PLCs to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor and analyze real-time facility metrics (power, cooling, humidity, etc.) to proactively identify and resolve anomalies.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and controls-related issues in critical infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, vendors) to implement upgrades, expansions, or efficiency improvements.
- Perform preventive maintenance and calibration of sensors, actuators, and control panels to minimize downtime.
- Document and report system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities in compliance with Googleâs standards.
- Support emergency response during outages or failures, ensuring rapid restoration of services.
- Stay current with industry trends in data center automation, energy efficiency, and smart controls.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in data center operations, facilities management, or industrial controls (BMS/SCADA/PLC).
- Technical certification (e.g., HVAC, electrical, or controls systems) or equivalent military training is a plus.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical circuits, HVAC systems, and control logic.
- Hands-on experience with DDC (Direct Digital Control) systems, VFD drives, and industrial networking protocols (Modbus, BACnet).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with safety protocols (OSHA, NFPA 70E) and data center compliance standards (e.g., Uptime Institute).
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to document procedures and train team members.
- Willingness to work in shift-based or on-call rotations, including weekends/holidays as needed.
