Responsibility

  • Prepare and cook Italian dishes according to authentic recipes and restaurant standards.
  • Assist in the daily mise en place, including chopping, marinating, and pre-cooking ingredients.
  • Ensure all food items are stored, labeled, and rotated according to food safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.
  • Follow portion control and plating guidelines to ensure consistency in presentation.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to the head chef or manager.
  • Adhere to hygiene and sanitation standards to uphold a safe and healthy kitchen environment.
  • Support in special events or catering requests as needed.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a cook, preferably in an Italian or fine-dining restaurant.
  • Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices (HACCP certification is a plus).
  • Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items (up to 20 kg).
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
