Note: This is a contract role with potential for extension based on performance and business needs.
Responsibility
- Monitor and respond to security incidents in real-time, ensuring timely mitigation of threats within the SOC environment.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analyses to identify and address security gaps.
- Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls in alignment with GRC frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into system designs and operations.
- Perform compliance audits and assessments to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to employees to foster a culture of cybersecurity vigilance.
- Stay updated on emerging threats, trends, and technologies in cybersecurity to proactively enhance our security posture.
- Document and report security incidents, risks, and compliance status to management and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, with hands-on expertise in SOC operations and GRC.
- Proficiency in security tools such as SIEM (e.g., Splunk, IBM QRadar), IDS/IPS, firewalls, and vulnerability scanners.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, or PCI DSS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or GIAC are highly desirable.
- Experience working in a remote or hybrid environment with a high degree of self-motivation and discipline.
