Responsibility
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to gather necessary information for accurate cost projections.
- Develop and maintain cost databases and tools to improve estimation accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare and present detailed cost reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and clarity.
- Monitor project progress and adjust cost estimates as needed to reflect changes in scope or materials.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend alternative materials or methods to optimize project budgets.
- Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure competitive and realistic estimates.
- Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals for new projects, ensuring compliance with company standards and client requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Cost Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools (e.g., ProEst, PlanSwift, or similar).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in preparing and reviewing cost estimates.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards is a plus.
