Responsibility
- Lead the negotiation, drafting, and execution of mining contracts, ensuring terms are favorable and compliant with legal standards.
- Manage contract lifecycle, including renewals, amendments, and terminations, to align with business objectives.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate potential contract-related risks.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and operational teams to ensure contract terms are adhered to and disputes are resolved efficiently.
- Monitor contract performance and compliance, providing regular reports to senior management.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders to foster long-term partnerships.
- Ensure all contracts are in compliance with local and international regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
- Provide training and guidance to internal teams on contract management best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Law, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management, preferably within the mining, resources, or energy sectors.
- Strong understanding of contract law, negotiation techniques, and risk management principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex contract terms.
- Proven ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certification in contract management (e.g., CPCM, CCM) is highly desirable.
