Responsibility
- Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local and international regulations (e.g., GDPR, PDPA).
- Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and data protection audits to identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with IT, legal, and business teams to integrate data governance practices into digital technology solutions.
- Monitor and report on data governance metrics, ensuring adherence to established standards and best practices.
- Provide training and awareness programs on data privacy and governance for employees and stakeholders.
- Lead initiatives to classify, catalog, and manage data assets, ensuring data quality and accessibility.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in data governance, privacy laws, and digital technology to drive continuous improvement.
- Act as a subject matter expert in resolving complex data governance and privacy issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Law, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CIPP, CDPSE, CISSP) are a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data governance, privacy, or compliance roles, preferably in a digital technology environment.
- In-depth knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, PDPA) and industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
- Proven experience in conducting privacy impact assessments, audits, and risk management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate across departments.
- Familiarity with data management tools, governance frameworks, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
