Responsibility
- Conduct thorough reviews of banking transactions, client onboarding processes, and documentation to ensure compliance with AML (Anti-Money Laundering), KYC (Know Your Customer), and other regulatory frameworks.
- Identify and escalate potential compliance risks, discrepancies, or irregularities to senior management with actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Risk, and Operations, to implement and monitor compliance policies and procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local and international banking regulations, including MAS (Monetary Authority of Singapore) guidelines and other relevant standards.
- Prepare and submit accurate compliance reports to regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders within stipulated deadlines.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of compliance training programs for bank staff to ensure adherence to best practices.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors.
- Utilize compliance software and tools to streamline monitoring, reporting, and risk assessment processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CAMS, CFA, FRM) are a plus.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or audit within the banking or financial services sector, preferably in private banking.
- In-depth understanding of AML, KYC, and CDD (Customer Due Diligence) regulations and frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and apply them to practical scenarios.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to draft clear and concise reports.
- Proficient in using compliance management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail, with a commitment to upholding ethical standards.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
