Responsibility

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and bread according to standardized recipes and techniques.
  • Assist in the daily production of high-quality baked goods, ensuring consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards, including proper storage, handling, and labeling of ingredients.
  • Collaborate with the pastry team to develop and refine new recipes and seasonal menu items.
  • Operate and maintain pastry equipment, including mixers, ovens, and proofers, ensuring they are clean and in good working condition.
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, and assist in ordering and stock management as needed.
  • Support the pastry chef in plating and presenting desserts to meet the aesthetic and quality standards of the establishment.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a pastry or baking role, preferably in a hotel, resort, or high-volume kitchen.
  • Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, including dough preparation, baking, and decorating.
  • Familiarity with food safety and hygiene practices, including HACCP principles.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to take direction and work collaboratively.
