Responsibility
- Prepare and portion ingredients for cooking, including chopping, peeling, and trimming fresh fruits, vegetables, and proteins.
- Weigh and measure ingredients accurately to ensure consistency in recipes and portion sizes.
- Assist in the storage and rotation of food supplies, adhering to HACCP and food safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation, including equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
- Follow standardized recipes and special dietary requirements as directed by senior chefs.
- Support the kitchen team during service periods, including plating and garnishing dishes.
- Assist in receiving and inspecting deliveries to ensure quality and freshness of ingredients.
- Participate in daily briefings and training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is advantageous but not required.
- Basic knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions accurately.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
- Strong teamwork and communication skills in English (additional languages are a bonus).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
