Responsibility
- Assist the Head Chef and senior kitchen staff in the preparation and cooking of hot dishes, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation.
- Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines to maintain high culinary standards.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including stoves, ovens, grills, and fryers, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Prepare mise en place (ingredients and tools) for daily service to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Assist in the plating and garnishing of dishes to meet the establishmentâs aesthetic and quality standards.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper storage, handling, and disposal of ingredients.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient service during peak hours.
- Participate in inventory management, including stock rotation and minimizing food waste.
- Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques to contribute to menu development and innovation.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a hot kitchen environment.
- Basic knowledge of culinary techniques, including grilling, sautĂŠing, frying, and braising.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools, including knives, stoves, and ovens.
- Strong passion for food and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Ability to work in a team, follow instructions, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices (e.g., HACCP principles).
- Physical stamina to stand for long hours and work in a high-pressure environment.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Fluency in English is a plus; basic Indonesian language skills are advantageous.
