job description
Are you an experienced Coating Process Engineer looking for your next career breakthrough? Adecco is partnering with a global leader in high-tech manufacturing to find a skilled engineer specializing in semiconductor, substrate, and PCB coating technologies. Based in the beautiful location of Bali, this role offers an incredible blend of cutting-edge technical challenges and an unparalleled lifestyle.
As a Coating Process Engineer, you will lead the optimization, troubleshooting, and scaling of advanced coating processes (such as conformal coating, photoresist, and electroplating) used in modern semiconductor and PCB fabrication. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional R&D and production teams to drive yield improvements, cost reduction, and quality excellence.
Our client is at the forefront of microelectronics innovation, providing critical substrates and PCB components to global tech giants. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in implementing industry standards, validating new materials, and ensuring robust process controls. If you thrive in fast-paced engineering environments and want to make a tangible impact on next-generation consumer electronics, we want to hear from you!
Responsibility
- Design, develop, and optimize advanced coating processes for semiconductors, substrates, and PCB assemblies.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues, perform root-cause analysis (8D, Fishbone), and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Collaborate with equipment vendors to evaluate, install, and commission new coating and dispensing machinery.
- Drive yield improvement initiatives, reducing scrap rates and optimizing material consumption (conformal coatings, resins, photoresists).
- Establish robust Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct design of experiments (DOE) to validate new chemical materials, coating thicknesses, and curing profiles.
- Work closely with QA/QC teams to ensure compliance with IPC standards and high-reliability automotive/aerospace requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in coating, dispensing, or wet processes within the Semiconductor, PCB, or Substrate packaging industry.
- Strong knowledge of conformal coating materials (acrylics, silicones, polyurethanes) and curing methodologies (UV, thermal).
- Proven track record in statistical process control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) using software like Minitab.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC-A-610, IPC-CC-830, or ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 quality management systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional project teams.
