Responsibility
- Develop precise CNC nesting layouts to maximize material utilization and minimize waste.
- Generate detailed cutting instructions and toolpath plans for CNC machines.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure designs meet manufacturing standards and deadlines.
- Review and validate engineering drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with specifications.
- Optimize nesting strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies between design intent and production capabilities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, CAD/CAM software, and CNC technologies.
- Document processes, revisions, and technical specifications for future reference.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (2+ years) as a CNC Drafter, Nesting Specialist, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Radan).
- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, including nesting, cutting, and material optimization.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and precision.
- Familiarity with sheet metal, wood, or composite materials is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
