Join Pacific & Orient Insurance Co., a established leader in the Malaysian insurance landscape, as we expand our claims department in Kuala Lumpur. We are currently seeking a meticulous and analytical Claims Executive / Senior Executive to manage our Non-motor and Reinsurance portfolio.
In this specialized role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of non-motor claims, ranging from property and liability to miscellaneous classes. You will play a critical role in protecting the company's interests by accurately assessing policy liability, calculating quantum with precision, and managing complex legal responses. As a Senior Executive, you will also take the lead on high-value claims and complex reinsurance recoveries, ensuring that all processes align with internal guidelines and statutory requirements. Responsibility
- Manage and process non-motor claims from initial notification through to final discharge and settlement.
- Conduct thorough assessments of policy liability and interpret policy terms and conditions accurately.
- Evaluate and determine claim quantum based on loss adjuster reports and supporting documentation.
- Draft professional legal responses and coordinate with external legal counsel on litigated matters.
- Handle reinsurance notifications and ensure timely recovery of reinsurance claims.
- Negotiate settlements with claimants, brokers, and legal representatives within authorized limits.
- Maintain accurate claim reserves and ensure the integrity of data within the claims management system.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB), Insurance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as AMII, ACII, or DMII is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in Non-Motor claims within the general insurance industry.
- Strong understanding of non-motor insurance products and reinsurance principles.
- Excellent command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, particularly in technical and legal writing.
- Proven analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy in quantum assessment.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
