Responsibility

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities, including the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and Bursa Malaysia, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries and examinations.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive compliance programs, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to local and international regulations.
  • Lead and manage regulatory examinations, audits, and inspections, ensuring all findings are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes, assessing their impact on the business and recommending necessary adjustments to policies and operations.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to integrate compliance into business strategies and decision-making processes.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and compliance training programs to foster a culture of compliance and ethical behavior across the organization.
  • Oversee the reporting of suspicious activities, breaches, and incidents to relevant authorities, ensuring full transparency and accountability.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in financial compliance, driving continuous improvement in our compliance framework.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, LLM) or professional certification (e.g., CAMS, CFE, CCEP) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or regulatory affairs, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role (e.g., Compliance Manager, Head of Compliance).
  • Proven experience liaising with regulatory authorities, such as the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC), Bursa Malaysia, or equivalent bodies in other jurisdictions.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, anti-money laundering (AML) laws, and corporate governance standards in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in remote or hybrid work environments, with a demonstrated ability to manage teams and projects effectively from a distance.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin is a plus.
