Responsibility
- Develop and implement category strategies to optimize product assortment, pricing, and profitability.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to secure the best value.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to inform purchasing decisions.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and logistics teams to ensure seamless product availability and promotions.
- Manage supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with quality standards, delivery schedules, and ethical sourcing practices.
- Analyze sales data and inventory levels to forecast demand and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Lead cost-saving initiatives by identifying opportunities for bulk purchasing, alternative materials, or process improvements.
- Prepare and present reports on category performance, market insights, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, category management, or retail merchandising.
- Proven track record in supplier negotiation, contract management, and cost optimization.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge of retail industry trends, consumer behavior, and market dynamics.
