Responsibility
- Operate and program CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360) to create precise 2D/3D models and toolpaths for manufacturing.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
- Optimize machining processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Conduct quality checks on prototypes and finished products to ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CAD/CAM operations, including software errors or machinery malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of design revisions, process parameters, and production reports.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in CAD/CAM technology to drive continuous improvement.
- Assist in training junior staff on CAD/CAM best practices and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (2+ years) as a CAD/CAM Operator or in a similar role within manufacturing, aerospace, or automotive industries.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam, or Fusion 360.
- Strong understanding of G-code, CNC machining, and toolpath generation.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and precision.
- Familiarity with materials science (metals, plastics, composites) and their machining properties.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Diploma or Bachelorâs degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field is a plus.
