Responsibility
- Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs of biomedical equipment to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues in medical devices, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to provide training on the proper use and maintenance of biomedical equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment servicing, repairs, and calibration in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for the procurement of spare parts, equipment upgrades, and new installations.
- Ensure compliance with local and international standards for biomedical equipment safety and performance.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to extend the lifespan of medical devices.
- Stay updated with advancements in biomedical technology and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong technical knowledge of medical devices, including diagnostic, therapeutic, and life-support equipment.
- Certification in biomedical equipment technology (e.g., CBET) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and software for equipment testing and calibration.
- Strong communication skills to effectively train and assist healthcare professionals.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards such as ISO 13485, FDA, or local healthcare regulations.
