Responsibility
- Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and repairs on biomedical equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on medical devices, including imaging systems, patient monitors, and laboratory equipment.
- Conduct safety inspections and functional tests to verify equipment performance and adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, FDA).
- Maintain accurate service records, logs, and documentation for all repairs, maintenance, and inventory of parts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, clinicians, and vendors, to support equipment lifecycle management.
- Provide on-call support for emergency repairs during the 2nd shift (afternoon/evening hours).
- Stay updated on new biomedical technologies and participate in training programs to enhance technical expertise.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and quality assurance procedures.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician or in a similar role, preferably in a hospital or medical device company.
- Strong knowledge of medical device operation, maintenance, and repair (e.g., MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound, or lab equipment).
- Certification in biomedical equipment technology (e.g., CBET, BMET) is a plus.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, and calibration software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 62304) and quality management systems.
- Willingness to work in 2nd shift (e.g., 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM) and provide on-call support as needed.
