Responsibility
- Lead and manage a team of Biomedical Engineers to ensure timely and effective maintenance, calibration, and repair of medical equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and extend lifespan.
- Oversee compliance with local and international regulatory standards for medical device safety and performance.
- Collaborate with hospital administrators and clinical staff to assess equipment needs and recommend upgrades or replacements.
- Monitor inventory of spare parts and supplies, ensuring availability for critical repairs.
- Train and mentor biomedical engineering staff to enhance technical skills and operational efficiency.
- Prepare and present reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and budgetary requirements.
- Stay updated with advancements in biomedical technology and integrate best practices into operational workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of medical device regulations (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485) and quality assurance standards.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a technical team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in high-stakes environments.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, software for equipment management, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support nationwide operations.
